Bellemoun was founded by St. Lucian born, Karlyn Percil in Toronto, Canada. The unique culture thriving in the Caribbean islands was the inspiration for Bellemoun. The Caribbean is known for its stunning landscapes and people, which is why the French Creole term, “bellemoun” (translated as “beautiful people”) was chosen as the company name.

The history of the Caribbean includes many colonizers and inhabitants making it the first multi-cultural society in the Western Hemisphere. Today, descendents of Europeans, African slaves, Indigenous first nations, and indentured Indian and Chinese labourers still reside in the region. Many have also dispersed around the globe to form the Caribbean Diaspora.

"We are all connected"  be it through languauge, culture, ethnicity and the people around us, this is Bellemoun’s simple philosophy. The company’s apparel line is an artistic expression of its philosophy, designed to be shared with the world.
